How to Apply DTF Transfers
Follow these steps to get a clean, long-lasting transfer every time. Always check fabric compatibility before pressing, and follow any instructions supplied with your transfers.
Regular DTF transfers (fabric)
- Preheat your heat press. Recommended setting: 320°F for 15 seconds.
- Pre-press the garment for a few seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
- Place the transfer face down on the garment where you want the design.
- First press with a heat press sheet: 300–350°F for 12–15 seconds, medium pressure.
- Let the transfer cool completely, then peel the film (cold peel).
- Final press with the heat press sheet: 300–350°F for 8–12 seconds.
Glitter and Glow in the Dark DTF (fabric)
- Temperature: 285–310°F
- Time: 15 seconds
- Pressure: medium
- Peel: cold peel
UV DTF transfers (hard surfaces)
UV DTF is peel-and-stick. No heat press is needed. It bonds to glass, metal, plastic, wood and ceramic.
- Clean the surface with alcohol to remove oils and fingerprints.
- Cut your design out of the sheet.
- Peel off the backing film.
- Place the design on the item and rub it firmly with your fingers or a squeegee.
- Slowly peel off the clear top film. The design stays on the item.
Garment care
- Wait 24 hours before washing.
- Wash inside out in cold water.
- Tumble dry on low.
- Do not iron directly over the print.
